It is surprising and saddening that so-called Christians, especially in the southern part of India, follow and believe in caste systems. In other parts of the world, this is called racism—where people are judged as superior or inferior based on their birth. This is completely against what God says in the Bible. How misguided can it get?
From the Old to the New Testament, the Bible consistently teaches that everyone is equal. To sum it up, Jesus, the center of Christianity, came to this world and gave the royal law to follow: "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." In other words, treat everyone the way you want to be treated. This means that everyone is equal.
Despite the clarity of these messages in the Bible, so-called Christians have completely forgotten God and His word. Instead, they have worshipped their traditions and religion, continuing to follow this cruel system of inequality. It is unbelievable that they all read the same Bible but fail to see these clear messages.
I've seen churches built based on certain castes, which is a shameful act. They don’t even need to read the whole Bible to understand this. If they observe Jesus' life, they would see this message consistently. Jesus associated with all kinds of people, from fishermen to tax collectors.
As a Rabbi (Teacher), it was prohibited to associate with such people, as there were certain classes within the Jewish community, such as rabbis and priests, who considered themselves superior to others. Yet Jesus broke these practices and traditions. He even chose such people as His disciples—living with them, eating with them, and traveling with them.
"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." – Matthew 2:15
Another example is when Jesus spoke with the Samaritan woman. Jews considered Samaritans inferior, and they would avoid traveling through Samaria. She was considered inferior even among the Samaritans because she had more than one husband. But Jesus asked her for water, surprising her because a Jew would not speak to her when her own people considered her inferior.
"When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, 'Will you give me a drink?' The Samaritan woman said to him, 'You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?'" – John 4:7
She is the first person in the Bible to go and share the Gospel with others. In many other instances, Jesus associated with people that the Jews considered inferior. He healed and blessed everyone.
If we claim to be followers of Christ, how can we live in a system of inequality? The Bible clearly states that we are either with God or against Him. There is no middle ground—no grey area. It’s either black or white.
"Whoever is not with me is against me." – Matthew 12:30
This is a big failure in places that uphold such a system. I cannot consider these people as Christians; I would say they are a perfect example of the Antichrist. People who spend so much time spreading religion, building churches, and converting others to their beliefs have a selfish agenda.
If they spent even a little time conveying the message that God has given to all of humanity, it would have saved many people and enlightened millions. Instead, they are busy worshiping their traditions and cultures, and in some places, even worshiping priests and pastors, completely ignoring God and His ways.
How can the blind lead the blind? I see these Christians striving to convert others to their beliefs, but what good can come from it if their belief system itself is flawed?
"You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye." – Matthew 7:5
Because of some people's mistakes and wrong interpretations of the Bible, this does not make God wrong. It is man-made religion—not God—that did this. There are many religions, but one God.
I wrote this blog to share some Bible verses inspired by God that show everyone is equal. These scriptures represent true Christianity. We must believe in God's word—not the church, pastors, or priests. Please do not judge Christ and His ways by the foolish acts of some people. Ignore the nonsense and read His words with an open heart. Let the truth set you free.
